Bellapierre 3 Eyeshadows Palette - Golden Olive Review

Well what can I say the colours definitely speak for themselves. They are so eye catching. It consists of 3 eyeshadows. The champagne is a  light shimmery pink but can almost look like silver in certain lighting, oblivious a shimmery foiled gold and marrone which looks matte but when applied has a slight shine to it. It is contained in a shiny black compact, included with a mirror and brush applicator. The champagne shade is great for applying to the inner tear duct. The champagne shade works as a good highlight too. Due to the pink undertone I felt it was unsuitable for the brow bone area.

The eyeshadows are creamy and blend real smoothly. Due to the shimmer I found you do have to apply more to achieve that intensity of colour. On my skin tone, I found this particular palette creates more daytime looks rather than night looks. I didn’t experience any fall out which is nice, especially if you like applying eyeshadow before foundation, highlight etc. They do last a reasonably amount of time around 5 hours or so.

Have you tried the Bellapierre 3 Eyeshadows Palette?

BareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 2.0 The Last Call ||| Review

The Bare Minerals Ready Eyeshadow 2.0 the last call comes with the shades on the rocks (blueberry) and shaken not stirred (navy). Both shades are pressed, and have a shimmer to them but are still really pigmented even with this. I was pleased with that, as most shimmer shades let’s just face it, aren’t that pigmented. The key ingredients in these eyeshadows are cold pressed borage oil, caffeine and cucumber. They are so blendable aswell. This product lasts 12 months and can be purchased through Amazon retailing at 6.99 pounds. The palette is so light and compact, perfect if your on the go. I like the fact that the palette has a sort of a rubbery finish to the outside which makes it more durable if fallen on floor (may happen sometimes hehe) It comes with a mirror and applicator which is real handy.

What I was most impressed about the duo was, once you apply them, you don’t need to touch it up or anything, it lasts all day long 🙂 No fall out or cakiness in the crease of the eyes either which is another bonus.

The shades themselves are versatile, you can build up the amount of coverage you want for both day and night looks. This particular colour combo made my brown eyes pop. I would definitely repurchase this product again.

Do you like the BareMinerals Line?

Yin Yang Natural Moisturiser ||| Review

I came across this product in Holland and Barrett. It was reduced so I decided to give it a try. The key ingredients in this moisturiser are coconut oil, apple cidar vinegar, witch hazel, acidophilus and essential oil of sweet orange. It is free of parabens, petrochemicals and detergents.

Yin Yang Natural Moisturiser ||| Review

Yin Yang Natural Moisturiser ||| Review

It is suitable for dry to normal skin types. The bottle stands at 50ml and lasts 12 months. Although it states that it is light I would say the texture of this cream would be on the heavier side. It has a citrus scent like apricots. The cap of the bottle is a bit strange though the suction doesn’t look very promising. I really don’t know how it works but it does, but if your nearing the end of the bottle it may be challenging. (Shown below)

Yin Yang Natural Moisturiser ||| Review

I was using this cream for about three days had no problems. It left my skin very moisturised which lasted all day long. It worked as a good base before applying my make up aswell. Then after the three days my face had red patches of dryness. At first I thought maybe it was just my skin adjusting to the change of a new product so I carried on using it for around a month. Probably not the best plan since my skin wasn’t improving but I thought maybe the smallest chance. Nope the patches of dryness were not going away. It was quite disappointing because it was so mositurising in the beginning. If you have sensitive skin I wouldn’t recommend this product. I have tried products in the past that were for dry to normal skin types and didn’t have a problem with them.

Have you tried products from the Yin Yang Range?

Dr Bronner’s Almond Liquid 18-in-1 Pure Castile Soap ||| Review

This is my first post of the new year, what better way to start it off with a review.

Happy New Year guys 🙂

Dr Bronner's Almond Liquid 18-in-1 Pure Castile Soap Review

Dr Bronner's Almond Liquid 18-in-1 Pure Castile Soap Review

The Dr Bronner’s Almond Liquid 18-in-1 is an all in one soap which means it can be used for a wide range of cleaning uses this also includes mopping and dish washing. It is made from organic fair trade ingredients, GMO free, not tested on animals, certified vegan and free from foaming agents. It is two to three times more concentrated than most liquid cleansers out there, so it needs to be diluted. It stands in a post-consumer recycled plastic bottle which I think is good to know if you believe in a greener planet. It retails in Holland and Barrett for €11.99 @ 473ml.

Now the first thing I noticed on opening this product is the smell it is so nice, a fresh marzipan scent.

So far I have used it as a hand, hair, face, for cleaning my makeup brushes and as a body wash. Due to the high level of organic oils used, two to three drops goes a long way. I didn’t experience any tingly feeling with this product. It is very gentle especially if you have sensitive skin. The bottle has lasted me just a little over two months which I think is pretty dawn good considering how many uses I got out of it, as you can see from the photos it’s nearly gone. What I will say though if using as just a shampoo less is more. It is quite easy to pour a lot out at once and over load it, with my hair type I found it works best in conjunction with my regular shampoo. I have noticed it works as a mild exfoliator too.

From regular use, the cap does get clogged up from time to time but it’s just a matter of pulling away the excess build up. I would repurchase this Dr Bronner’s Almond Liquid 18-in-1 Pure Castile Soap again. Looking forward to trying new products from their range.

7 Ways To Keep A Healthy Weight

7 Ways To Keep A Healthy WeightImage via go-spaces

Reach for healthy snack alternatives.Snacking on seeds, nuts and fruit. Keeping them in jars and containers can be real handy when your looking to snack out. You can get creative too. Apple slices dipped with honey, sunflower seeds with blueberries.

Plan out your food shopping in advance. This will avoid any unnecessary produce that may be adding more inches to your waistline. Focusing on the foods that you think will be the better choice. Another tip would be to go shopping just after you have eaten.

Using smaller plates. This cuts the calories consumed. When seeing food on a smaller plate we visualize the food in a different light. The portion size looks smaller therefore we don’t need to add any more.

Start Juicing. Getting all the benefits of both the vitamins and minerals. With Juicing you can consume more fruit and vegetables, leaving yourself fuller for longer without adding any inches. In this way it aids with unwanted hunger bouts for treats.

Try making your own sauces and dressings. Most sauces and dressings contain sugar and calories. Why not make your own from apple cider vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, tomatoes the list goes on depending on what sauce or dressings you want.

Inhale peppermint oil. This helps to kick food cravings. A study made by the wheeling Jesuit University showed that participants who inhaled the oil every two hours over a period of five days felt less hunger and had less cravings.

Change the colour of your plates. Using a different colour plate to the food you consume can be helpful in the amount of food you serve on your plate. Those who eat off similar coloured plates tend to serve up 20 per cent more, a study has shown.

Pure Bio Sublime Liquid Foundation|||Review

What I found interesting about the Pure Bio Sublime Liquid Foundation is that it has anti aging properties. I have never came across this before in an organic ingredient foundation so I was impressed at this. It leaves a matte, velvety finish on the skin. The texture is creamy. It is vegan, gluten free and nickel tested. The shelf life of this product is 6 months. It retails at €14.59 via the ecco verde website. The active ingredients in this product are red grape extract, shea butter, argan oil, plant glycerine, salvia officinalis hydrolat and tocopherol. It comes in seven shades. I got two shades 04 and 05 as I wasn’t sure on how one shade would sit on my skin. I mixed these two shades together and it was the perfect fit for my complexion.

What I didn’t like about this foundation is that it dries quickly. Although it did say on the Pure Bio Cosmetics website that it was quick drying I sorta under estimated this and applied a bit to much to start off with, will lets just say resulting in an unattractive finish. There is a knack to applying it, I wet the brush slightly and applied a pea sized amount of both shades on the back of my hand. Mixing them on the back of my hand and then just buffing it in.

As regards to the coverage of this foundation it is really good, full coverage for sure. It thoroughly covers any blemishes that may be present. It offers a flawless finish that lasts all day long.

I would purchase this again, I like how it feels on my skin and the coverage it supplies. When removing this foundation my face feels really soft too.

Have you tried any products from the Pure Bio Cosmetics line?

Facial In A Bottle||| Dr Hauschka Soothing Cleansing Milk Review

Facial In A Bottle||| Dr Hauschka Soothing Cleansing Milk Review

Since the winter weather has got my skin so dry I always like using facial cleansers that bring the moisture back into it. There is nothing more annoying than using a cleanser that drys out my skin. Now the Dr Hauschka Soothing Cleansing Milk on the other hand is one that does not disappoint and its for sensitive skin. It provides that extra moisture needed during those long winter months. I always find myself running back to this winter skin saver cleanser.

What I really like about this cleanser is that it is not heavy and doesn’t leave a greasy layer either. The main ingredients in this gentle cleanser are anthyllis, jojoba and almond oil which protect the skin from the daily elements. It’s the mix of fermented grains and the bentonite clay that cleanse. The texture of this cleanser is creamy and the smell is of a floral scent which I like. It can used as a make up remover but I will say that its better at removing light eye makeup then heavy eye makeup. Maybe this is because I tend to use cool water instead of applying a warm compress to prepare the skin as stated on the bottle instructions. It also works as a shaving lotion.

The cleanser itself stands in a 145ml glass bottle (€25.95)  which may not be very practical for travel but there is an alternative 10ml non- glass travel size (€3.49). I have noticed that a little goes a long way when using this product, 1-2 pumps per use. That’s all you need to notice the effects. At €25.95 it definitely is worth the price. It can be purchased at most health food stores.

From using this cleanser on a regular basis I can see that my skin has become alot more hydrated. It balances out my skin. It soothes the more sensitive areas of my face and  reduces redness aswell. It gives my skin that glow as if I have just had a proper facial. Amazing!!

Have you tried the Dr Hauschka Soothing Cleanser?
